The Gaza envelope tour- Otef Israel
The Gaza Envelope brims with history and complexity. I offer tours that reveal deep, nuanced insights into this special area. Visitors explore a variety of sites and communities living under threat. My tours showcase diverse perspectives on life along this contentious border. We balance historical context with current realities. Participants will learn about the region’s challenges and witness its resilience firsthand. My tours also spark discussions about its potential future. Through these experiences, visitors develop a deeper understanding of this unique and contested region, especially after the attack of October 7th, the day when everything changed…
We will start the day in Beit Alami, an old house in Kibbutz Zikim, where we will have coffee and see from the roof the border with Gaza, Zikim beach and moshav Nativ Haasara.
A short drive from there will take us to Sderot, to Kobi`s lookout and to the old police station where a fierce battle against Hamas terrorists took place more than 18 hours.
The Nova festival memorial site is a must while visiting the Otef. More than 400 young people were murdered while traying to escape.
We will visit the memorial site and honor their memory.
The visit of Tkuma- the place where all the burned cars were taken to. Every car has a story and the place became a memorial site.
A short drive from there- Shuva Ahim- a voluntary site that was created by 3 people for the soldiers, days after the 7 of October.
It’s a place where soldiers coming from battles can eat and rest and a place where we can meet and thank them.
The watcher's memorial- In Nahal Oz, more than 50 soldiers were killed while defending the army base and 10 were taken as hostages. We will visit their memorial that was created recently.
If possible, we will visit a Kibbutz in the Otef.
